Britt Malka – Product Creation Demystified
“What Do All Successful Online Marketers Have In Common?”
Which two things do Kevin Fahey, Arun Chandran, Tiffany Lambert, Mike from Maine and many others have in common?
If you’re not familiar with the above names, it doesn’t matter. You can use close to any marketer you’re familiar with, like Ben Settle, Frank Kern, Russell Brunson, Andie Brocklehurst, Tony Shepherd…
Take a moment to think about it. What are they doing?
Got it?
Here’s what I’m thinking:
They all do affiliate marketing – from time to time.
They all have created their own products.
It’s rare to find a successful affiliate who doesn’t have his own product.
On the other hand, you’ll see many product creators who rarely – or never – promote other people’s products.
And there’s a good reason for that. In fact, there are several good reasons.
I’ve given it some thought, and here’s what I’ve found:
You can make more money with your own products than with affiliate products. (You get 100% of your own sales.)
It can be faster to make your own products (unless you’re one of those affiliates who promotes everything and just uses the swipe files).
You can keep selling your products yourself, even a long time after you launched.
Your buyers get to know YOU, not a random product creator.
Creating products can be profitable and build your brand.
If you’re not creating products, you’re not making as much money as you could.
It’s as simple as that.
So why aren’t more people doing it?
Because most people have doubts. They have thoughts like:
I’ve got nothing to share.
I can’t write.
I don’t know how to create a product.
We’re not all fit to write, of course, but if you have a burning desire to share and help others, then read this carefully. Because there is help to find if you haven’t yet dared to create a product.
Hi, Britt Malka here.
Like you, I wasn’t born knowing how to create products.
The first time I did it, I didn’t have a plan or a structure.
It took me forever to write it, and I had to change things around many times.
And I didn’t create my second product until many months later.
The beginning was a lot of stress.
I turned procrastination into an art form. I would rather do anything, even house cleaning, rather than product creation.
Thousands of “what if” scenarios invaded my mind.
What if they hate it?
What if nobody buys it?
What if I get it all wrong?
What if I’m embarrassing myself?
Those weren’t easy times, but I pushed through. Because in spite of all my doubt I felt that I had something to share.
Sometimes, I didn’t even believe in that, though. I remember many years ago getting an idea about creating a product about PayPal and how to use it for Danes. I started. Then I let the product gather dust in my virtual drawer.
A long time later, I finished it, and my first customer told me: I’ve needed that for a long time.
So don’t let doubt stop you.
If You Can Read This… If You Can Either Write or Record a Video… Then You Can Create a Product
You have, no doubt, read or watched info-products. And if you’re anything like me, you know what you like.
You’ve probably thought, “I wish he wouldn’t slurp coffee and cough in my ears in his videos.”
Or, “I wish he would have explained this part in more details and left out the 100 pages on how he makes millions for his clients.”
If you’re a reader/watcher, then you have an idea about how to write a book or record a video.
Create the products you wish you were learning from yourself. Not necessarily the same topics, but use the same structure and way of teaching.
The rest is technique, and you can learn that.
You can even learn not to fear the process, but to enjoy it instead.
