About Lexi Cheng

Over the years, we encountered numerous challenges with traditional design services. We experimented with various approaches, from two-week sprints to months-long marathons, even tackling projects exceeding $20k+.

But here’s the twist – the more monumental the projects, the more we felt our creative spark dying out.

In late 2020, one of our cherished clients proposed a different approach – a retainer package for ongoing design work. However, we weren’t thrilled about the idea of being at our client’s beck and call for the entire month. It felt more like being employees of our clients rather than bosses of our own business.

So, we took a leap of faith and introduced VIP half-days exclusively for our client to test the waters. What initially started as a single four-hour, $800 project swiftly evolved into charging $4000 per day by 2024. Over those years, we shifted away from $20,000 design packages and exclusively offered VIP days!

VIP days didn’t just change our lives; they ignited a transformation in our careers.

For us, it’s about more than just the numbers (although that is a perk) VIP days have made our services much more accessible to people, allowing us the space to dream and brainstorm fresh ideas in our business. They also enabled us to spend less time managing clients during the week, ultimately granting us more of the freedom we’ve been craving… (raise your hand if you’ve answered an “urgent” client email on a Saturday).
