PJ Scardino – Introduction to Options
A Course on the Language of Options and How They Work
Buying and selling stocks may not be easy, but it is relatively straight forward. Trading options, on the other hand, is much more complex. An option is a financial instrument derived from an underlying security like a stock. The variables used to establish an option’s value have strange names like Delta, Gamma, Rho and Theta. The mathematical models used to establish values are so complex that it may seem like it is all Greek to you; but, many industries have their own unique jargon.
The business of option trading has its own industry specific vocabulary too. That specialized vocabulary is a collection of new words (like “ITM Call” or “Strangle”) used to provide clarity and precision so people may more easily communicate with each other and understand what they are trading. In this course I will teach you that vocabulary and more. This class is not a seminar on any specific trading system or method. It is an in-depth series of lessons that will teach you the fundamentals of options.
This course will cover 4 primary areas:
- Building Blocks
- How options are priced
- The Greeks
- Spreads – how to combine options to create different strategies
My unique style is based on decades of trading experience and reduces the complexity of option trading to simple concepts that are easily understood by a novice trying to learn the language of options.
