RJ Youngling – $10K Per Month: How to Make Products So Good People Throw Their Money At You
In 2022 I did over 12K a month using the exact methodology you’re about to learn here.
It works. It works for me. It works for my students in the BootCamp I teach. And it’ll work for you.
Depending on who you are, an extra 12K a month is probably life-changing.
There’s so much information out there on how to start a business but where do you even begin?
The method you’re about to learn here leaves no stone unturned and will teach you everything you need to know to get the most important outcome for solopreneurs starting out… Getting freaking paying customers!
Everything else is a distraction.
So if you want to start your journey towards $10K+ a month, keep reading.
2023 Update: In 2022, I’ve made $20K+ on autopilot selling information. This means eBooks and videos where I’m getting paid without having to do additional work after the creation of the product. This does not include my consulting revenue.
After my first company (one of the first and biggest urban sports performances & workshop companies in The Netherlands), I wanted to do something else… something more intellectual.
So I did what I always do… I studied everything.
I followed many (too many) people’s advice and started working on new companies. I had so much more knowledge and yet my bank account was running dry…
The Problem With Solopreneurship Education
I quickly learned that there are many “gurus” online, selling the dream and making promises they don’t keep.
And there’s legitimate advice given by startup accelerators and investors who’re trying to get deal flow. However, that advice, while good, is DEADLY if you’re not trying to build a unicorn company (company with a valuation of at least 1 billion).
There wasn’t much in the middle.
I knew I had to do something different.
Over the course of the next few years, I went from almost running out of runway to having more than enough money to work when I want to, but more importantly for me, on what I want.
I have terrible SEO, I use ghetto tools (like this Gumroad page instead of a fancy landing page), a thoroughly mediocre website, and no advertising campaign.
And yet, I’m on track to make $150,720 this year.
But unlike all my competitors, there’s one thing I do really well: I do a ridiculous amount of research in order to make products and services so good people want to throw their money at me.
You see, what most people do is start at the end.
They make the product and then try to find buyers.
That’s no different than making the most beautiful key you can and then going into the world trying to find a door with a lock your key will open.
Ridiculous, no? And yet, that’s what almost everyone does and recommends.
Even the extremely popular lean startup recommends this approach with the slight tweak of iterating. Make your key quickly, try to see if it opens the door, and then iterate based on the result.
But the problem is that if you’re too far off, you won’t get ANY feedback at all!
So what my entire approach is based on is Research-First.
Do some exploring to find a door with a simple lock. THEN make a simple key quickly. Put it in the lock and twist it. Now file the key down and keep repeating that until the key works!
Don’t sell what you wanna sell, sell what people wanna buy!
