Hello. It’s lovely to meet you. Welcome to Of Course. We’re Bree and Jess the founders of Willow & Blake and frank body. And this is our playbook for brand and marketing.
This is a self-paced course which means you get access to all the modules at once and you have ongoing access to them. We recommend completing 1-2 modules a week. But you can go as fast or slow as you want.
The course uses a combination of videos and worksheets. Please do not skip the worksheets. There’s additional information in these that will help you unpack what we discuss in the videos. The worksheets also include tasks. Do not skip the tasks. This is where the real work happens.
We designed Of Course to be completed autonomously but if you get stuck or have questions please reach out. We created this course because we believe in helping people build better brands. So let’s get started on that.
What You’ll Learn In Brand & Marketing Course
- Module 1. Getting Started.
This module doesn’t contain life’s big questions, but it does contain the big questions you need to ask yourself before starting. We’re big believers in process and this module is here for a reason, don’t skip it. Create a calm, quiet space for yourself to tackle this module when you won’t be interrupted. - Module 2. The foundations of brand strategy.
Strategy is a scary word for some, but for us, it’s the basis of everything good about a brand. Strategy, not to be confused with tactics, is about the thinking that underpins your larger ideas. In this module, we’ll dive into competitor analysis and audience segmentation so that you can carve out a truly unique position for your brand. Getting this module right will set you up for success. - Module 3. Purpose, proposition, and key messages.
If you stand for everything you ultimately stand for nothing. This module is your brands very own coming of age story, designed to help you work out what matters most so you can build a consistent and authentic brand with purpose. - Module 4. Developing your personality and tone of voice.
Funny haha or funny har-har? Let’s find out in this module that helps you find your inner copywriter with a series of exercises to develop your tone of voice and personality. Don’t be scared, go wild. - Module 5. Naming your brand.
Not quite as scary as naming your child, but equally as fun. This module explains the various naming techniques the experts use to name the brands you know and love. - Module 6. A practical guide to messaging.
The marketing funnel: a necessary evil to ensure you deliver the right type of message at the right time to your customers. Learn about awareness, consideration and conversion driving tactics and how they impact your messages at each stage of the customer journey. - Module 7. Developing a mood-board and visual identity.
Damn, you look good today. That’s what you want people to say about your brand. And like most of us, brands don’t just roll out of bed looking like a million bucks. Time and effort was spent to achieve those memorable and unique visual aspects of a brand. That’s what this module is designed to help you come up with, hosted by Willow & Blake Design Director Shaun Ponton. - Module 8. Developing a social media strategy.
Love it or hate it, social media is an incredible tool for brands to meet their potential customers. But it can be overwhelming or on the opposite end of the spectrum, people think they can do it all. In this module we take an honest look at how to approach social media to set you up for success. - Module 9. The final touches. How to brief collaborators well.
You’re almost there. This module is designed to help you get over the finish line. Sometimes it can feel like you’re so close, yet so far when it comes to launching a brand, product or campaign. This module will help you tick off the final things on your list, including how to brief those that you need to bring your vision to life. Do not attempt this module without completing modules 1-8 first, because Of Course, it won’t work. - Module 10. Mindset. Getting ready to launch.
Mindset is everything and if you’re thinking about closing the computer now, please don’t. This module contains links to a multitude of resources that will help you through the good times and the bad.
