Writeboards – Divided Lines – VIC Modern Cursive Font
Writeboards® collaborated with Occupational Therapists to create this innovative resource, designed to help children master the VIC Modern Cursive Font. Using the Sky, Grass, and Dirt concept, these worksheets make handwriting practice simple and engaging for young learners.
Why Divided Lines?
Instead of traditional plain lines, this system uses three color-coded lines:
- Sky: For letters that start high (e.g., b).
- Grass: Where most letters rest and end.
- Dirt: For letters that dip low (e.g., p).
This approach helps children visualize letter placement intuitively. For instance:
- The letter b starts in the sky, goes down to the grass, and ends there.
- The letter p starts in the grass, dips into the dirt, and finishes back at the grass.
- Once your child masters this system, transitioning to plain three-line writing becomes effortless!
